A Significant Year for Design Team

The year 2021 has been significant and one of the most important milestones for the design team at Tridge. We are grateful to have eight people joining us this year, including five visual designers and three product designers. Now, we can achieve so much more than the year before thanks to each member's unique skills, hard work, and desire to succeed.

2021 in Numbers

We were constantly busy throughout 2021, shuffling between different projects and tasks. However, we are proud of what we have achieved so far. Before we go over some of the key highlights this year from the design team's perspective, the figures below summarize what we did in 2021 in plain numbers.

Key Highlights in 2021

New Solutions & Features for Tridge

This year, our product designers designed and supported the launching of new solutions such as Tridge Fulfillment, Supplier Directory, and Intelligence & Data solutions. These solutions have helped our company move forward and contributed to its growth. Of course, this would not have been possible without the hard work of our PMs, engineers, fulfillment team, intelligence team, HR team, and other teams in the company.

Apart from designing for new solutions, our product designers also produced countless UI/UX designs for new features and improvements for the Tridge platform this year. The list includes a new navigation UI, trade data explorer UI, tariff data explorer UI, career page, company blog, new landing pages, intelligence pages, market pages, supplier directory pages, weather data pages, data widgets, white paper pages, and a lot more.

Although the ultimate goal of our product design had always been all about providing a better user experience while allowing us to achieve higher growth, we realized that there is still a long way to go. In 2022, we aim to improve the overall user experience and align more tightly with business goals.

New Internal Systems

While Tridge is a platform accessible by everyone online, most people don't know that our company also operates several large-scale in-house custom tools that are the keys to our global data and human operations. This year, we had continuously put our effort into improving the design of these systems to add new features, improve the user interfaces, ensure smoother internal processes, and support the scalability of our internal operations.

We will make an even greater effort to make these systems more reliable, easy to use, and better aligned with real-world operations to support the ever-growing needs of our global operations and networks.

New Youpick App

After renewing the Youpick brand this year, we gave the Youpick app a complete makeover to match the new brand identity. We also designed new features and introduced several improvements to enhance the overall user experience further.

The renewed app was designed and deployed in the final quarter of this year and is now available to everyone in Korea.

Robust Design Systems

Since we migrated from Sketch to Figma last year, we have always needed sophisticated, robust, and easy-to-use design systems to help our product designers stay productive and efficient. We also needed them to ensure that our design work was consistent and easy to maintain as our businesses scaled up in the long run.

Over the past year, we have seen significant progress in our design systems. We expect 2022 to be the year that we can ultimately establish world-class design systems boosting our overall productivity and design quality while allowing designers, engineers, and PMs to work together more efficiently.

Our design system analytics on Figma shows that at some point we used components as many as 178,000 times in a single week. Having solid design systems have helped us work much more efficiently.

New Tridge Brand Identity

Although the Tridge business and platform have been around for years, we never had the chance to develop our brand. It wasn't until this year when we decided it was the time to put everything together, define the brand identity, and publish a brand guideline that everyone could refer to.

After publishing the new brand, we have constantly made conscious efforts to advocate for the brand and ensure that all design deliverables live up to the expected standards. We made significant progress, and we plan to relentlessly refine the Tridge brand to take it to the next level in 2022.

Launching of Tridge Farm Brand

Thanks to the solid infrastructure and network of the Tridge business, we can now leverage its capability to secure fresh products and distribute them under our new B2C brand called "Tridge Farm."

Although we have already designed the brand identity and begun offering fresh products in several countries, we have yet to launch the identity through the website and other channels officially. In 2022, the Tridge Farm brand will evolve further to align with new strategies and be ready to accommodate the needs of different marketing and distribution channels.

Youpick Brand Renewal

Several months after launching the new Youpick brand last year, we've learned that our targeted customers' needs differed from what we initially thought. As a result, this year, we rebranded the Youpick brand to make sure that we appeal to the customer segments that our valued customers and we are after.

We developed brand strategies, guidelines, style guides, and graphical assets in the process. In 2022, we are looking forward to creating a more refined and sophisticated Youpick brand while supporting the Youpick business and team to help them achieve business goals.

Countless Design Deliverables

Other than what our product and branding designers achieved, our visual designers have also been constantly busy creating all kinds of deliverables that one could imagine: brand films, demo videos, interview videos, photo shooting, creative ads, brochures, reports, infographics, emails, gift sets, packages, office, goodies and more.

While we produce tons of design deliverables, we have also created and maintained a handful of guidelines, style guides, and other forms of documentation to help us create consistent and refined designs as our team continues to grow.

Capable & Rapidly Growing Team

While some of our team members have worked in Tridge for about six years, eight people joined us during our journey this year, bringing the design team to thirteen people. We're proud of having extremely talented individuals in our team who have enabled us to produce high-quality designs, overcome many obstacles, and achieve substantial results in the year 2021.

As the company grows, our team will too. That's why we have constantly been looking for excellent product designers, visual designers, motion graphic designers, and UX researchers to join our team. Check out our Career Page to see all the available positions. We always welcome talented individuals who are hungry for success. If you think you are the one, we recommend submitting your applications as soon as possible.

      • Designing products for the best user experience

      • Gaining an in-depth understanding of users and customers

      • Building world-class design systems and processes
