In a groundbreaking move for Korea’s agri-tech sector, Tridge, the country’s pioneering agri-tech company, has initiated a mutual agri-food trade promotion journey with Italy’s official trade promotion agency, ITA (Italian Trade Agency). This significant milestone marks the major achievement of Tridge’s “Tridge as a Global Agrifood Promotion Agency” initiative with its ‘data-driven marketplace’ solution with global food leader Italy.
Under this agreement, Tridge will establish an Italian Pavilion within its global B2B marketplace platform, facilitating the export activities and market expansion efforts of local Italian agri-food companies. ITA aims to enhance the global promotion of Made in Italy products by integrating local agrifood businesses into the Tridge platform.
The ITA is a government agency responsible for promoting Italian businesses abroad and attracting foreign investment to Italy and offers extensive trade information, educational consulting, and promotional services through its vast network of overseas offices. By designating Tridge as its official promotion partner, ITA aims to provide specialized support for Italian agrifood companies.
Ferdinando Gueli, Director of the Italian Trade Commission in Korea, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted that Italian food producers now have the opportunity to access global markets thanks to Tridge’s advanced services. We anticipate that this partnership will allow Italian agri-food products to offer unique experiences to consumers in Korea and beyond.”
Tridge plans to expand the ‘Tridge as a Global Agrifood Promotion Agency’ initiative, beginning with this partnership with ITA. Domestically, Tridge has signed contracts with local governments such as Jeollanam-do and Geumsan County, to establish local pavilions that promote Korean agrifood products globally.
While public institutions worldwide strive to effectively promote their agri-food products and companies, there has been a lack of robust digital tools to meet these specialized needs. Tridge’s ‘data-driven marketplace’ initiative,, has garnered positive responses from global customers and will double-down on this service for the remainder of 2024.
Tridge is committed to expanding these efforts, reinforcing its role as an expert in promoting agrifood trade worldwide.
A Tridge spokesperson commented, “We have enhanced the Tridge platform into a ‘marketplace’ where hundreds of thousands of agri-food buyers access data and insights on a monthly basis. By offering the data-driven marketplace to various countries, we aim to meet their agri-food promotional needs, contributing to the digital transformation and data-driven evolution of traditionally offline export support programs.”
